O’Caseys is located on Trinity Street, Mell, Drogheda, close to the town centre. The bar was formerly known as the Fairgreen Bar, and for many years it was known as Josie Flanagan’s bar, at that time all the staff were female. The bar changed hands many times over the years, and was once very popular with card players, and bingo fans.
O’Caseys has recently been taking over by new owners Jade and Sharon O Niel, and is now is a local family run business. The entire pub has been giving a revamp with no effort spared. The tasteful décor lends an air of brightness and space to the pub. The bar has a beautifully coffered ciling, with plenty of spacious seating.
The lounge has a lovely brick fire place with a range and big TV above it, perfect for those cosy winter days. It’s the perfect spot for a sociable pint or glass of wine, with a relaxing beer garden for those cold summer pints. Their TVs are well positioned in both the lounge and bar so you don’t miss out on any of the popular sporting events. For enthusiasts of rugby, Gaelic, soccer, golf and horse racing BoyleSports is just across the road if you fancy a bet.
Kebab Palace is just a few doors down, who according to some locals make the best kebab in town. There is also a Chinese, The Ming Garden at the end of the road.
O’Caseys serves all the usual beers, ales and spirits, and they offer a selection of locally brewed craft beer. There is a variety of live music in the lounge. The staff are a great team. As well as being friendly, they are experienced and efficient. You will always receive a warm welcome when you come through the door.
